Who Took My Sword?
Sales Prospecting Perspectives in pleased to bring you a guest post from one of our newer BDRs, Elizabeth Guerra.
AG frequently has visitors, and since my desk is next to the conference room, they usually have to walk past me to get to their meetings. Every so often, a visitor will comment on the various objects I have adorning my desk and cube. To be fair, there are plenty of things to choose from. Some of my decorations include my winning team medal and rainbow “Kanye shades” proudly displayed from the summer party, a tank of Sea Monkeys I rescued from being poured down the sink, and of course my Viking sword and helmet from Halloween.
It takes me a minute to remember that AG doesn’t fit the usual “call center” mold, and sometimes that surprises people. I know it’s been mentioned a few times on this blog, but the environment here is what really sets the company apart. We have fun, and yet we still get our work done. Everyone has had a job with a manager breathing down their neck all day long, and there isn’t much out there that’s any less motivating. At AG, my Viking sword gets “borrowed” on a daily basis, and it’s usually someone on the management team doing the borrowing.
I agree with AG’s philosophy that having happy employees makes for a better company. We all know what’s expected of us and we get it done, and we have lots of fun in the meantime. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go track down my sword.
